When you go from mastery 6 to never playing a champ for an entire season

So I'll just like to say, I love to play League of Legends. I've met a lot of friends and people from it and highly enjoy the experience (I sorta need to put this out because almost 95% of the post that make this sort of discussions are toxic) but certain things push me the wrong way. Like when I go from playing a champion almost every other game because the meta is full of assassins and tanks that build full damage, to having them at one of my lowest play ratings because of a 'certain' or more like 'series of certain' nerfs. Each one being more hurtful than the last.

Karma was my main, starting in season three, believe it or not. I didn't play much of her before the rework because I had just started league and hadn't filled my champ pool nor my experience in the game, but after it I almost only played karma. Karma mid that was. This was also the time that assassins like kat, yasuo, and LB were dominating the season nonstop.

Unlike the majority of karma's fans, I didn't stop believing that Riot had something up their sleeve after the release of Ekko (patch 5.10) but I did begin to have doubts when they sent a video of wanting more champions to be able to play in more roles. I'm not going to go through the list of entire patches and item nerfs that they did to karma over the duration of the four years, but you should know that nearly every solo lane buff done has been undone, and you should remember that. Because in my opinion karma is in a very unhealthy spot right now. Being one of the easiest supports in the game at the moment. There's almost no way to play karma wrong in bot unless you decide to start a fight or go too far trying to poke someone. Her shield allowed her to soak up most poke damage for a low mana cost. Her root can turn to be one of the longest ones in the games, but she also has to follow the enemy for three seconds before getting the root/heal for it. That's three of Ezreal Q's to the face she has to take and hope that his E isn't back up after it. Imagine doing this against a Fizz or a yasuo, or god help you, a kat. It's beyond near impossible. I'm seeing more people build spirit visage on her which should just tell you how bad it's getting.

I haven't been able to conformable take karma into any of my rank games mid because of how lackluster she is. Her E can't be used on minions, her Q is easily blocked by minions and her W only deals damage once on hit and again after two seconds of chasing down the enemy. The fact that Karma hasn't had a solo lane buff since patch 5.10 (if you want to consider losing two of your main damage spells, well, damage as a buff) and has only several support lane nerfs shows that she's in view of getting swept under the rug again as one of those champs that are 'In the game but aren't really played'. This isn't a 'kill karma support' type gag, but at least make her playable in midlane. I understand it, utility mages are hard to balance because you need to have a mage that has the potential to kite someone like a juggernaut and battle mages Vladimir, need I say more about this class? They suck. Both your life and your elo. However, the community has given out countless ideas on how to balance Karma in both ways. I personally can't choose a favorite one, but if I did, it would be that her Q didn't break on minions while her RE had a large wave clear added too it. Or it was something along the lines of that. But doing nothing to stop her mid lane from going 'Cool we have a karma mid' to 'This person took karma mid, they're trolling' and doing absolutely nothing to try and stop that doesn't seem just lazy, it seems almost as if you are trying to force a fan base into position. Karma's E just had a base nerf as well as an RE nerf from 50% scaling to 30%

Just please, make her less of a twitch jungle please come mid type thing. I want to see her as the solo laner she was reworked to be. I have less than 30 games as her in ranked this season simply because either I got autofilled as a support or because I had adc type jungle that would camp the lane with me. Thanks.

I'm strangely optimistic in regards to Karma's future, although I know I shouldn't be, given Riot's record with her. 5.10 was an overall nerf and is the reason why she's in this current state, it was a deeply flawed direction to take with her. All that the 5.10 changes succeeded in doing was lowering her skill floor (and ceiling), and pushing her into a non-interactive playstyle that can only be effective when it's lacking counterplay. That's why she absolutely had to be nerfed. However these nerfs imo just prove that the direction taken with her was wrong all along.

I hear you on the pain for Karma, I use her here and there but it is undeniable she's so weak right now.

I also have been an Aatrox main for a year (july 13-july 14) and after the gutting of that champion from the first "rework" that nobody wanted and specifically said not to do, I haven't played him since outside one or two games. The champion I mained for a year and tore through entire teams and soloed baron with is quite dead and gone, and a pitiful shell is what's left. They usually stick to gutting AP champions but man did Aatrox take a beating. Camille, too - nine nerfs in 3 months, the worst being her prison cannot stay for 4 seconds even if dead (was so useful ulting some tower diving unkillable piece of trash, even if I died they'd be dead and now that certainty is gone)

But look on the bright side, after they nerf our favorites enough they'll end up buffing them to the point they need a nerf again a year later and the whole process repeats itself. Welcome to the "un"balance team!
