I've never really focused on playing ranked, but this season I intend to change that. I had to take several breaks from League over the past year due to my job and school, so I know I'm rusty and a bit unsure which roles I should prioritize. Which positions and champions would you recommend? Snowbally is best so that I can try to solocarry, but I also would like other options to help my team if need be.

If you're looking to snowball/solocarry then adc seems like your best bet. If all you want to do is that then I'd go for champs with high win %, but low pick & ban % (kog, twitch, xayah are top for adc right now with those prerequisites)..
nasus top lane and taric support also meets those standards except you're not going to solo carry a game with them. Mid lane you could a-sol or Vladimir.
Honestly these names are going to change every few weeks. Check out op.gg. You can sort through champs to see who's winning, who's being played and banned a lot, etc.
No idea what your champion pool or playstyle is like so probably best to choose yourself
I have a friend who is an ADC main.
Its a great carry role, but in its current state you will either A: want to hang yourself with your Tie after a match B: Laughably 1 shot everyone.
Not much in between atm.
