Champions like
will throw their spells from 1k+ range at your tower every time its off cd and there is nothing you can do with it. Not the funniest thing possible
Also, if they can be damaged by abilities, what about healing them with abilities? Buffs/debuffs? Syndra throwing enemy tower away? Tahm Kench repositioning his nexus closer to the fountain and gathering all his towers together? Vayne stunning a tower by condemning it into another tower? Janna throwing the whole nexus in the air?
Go play Heroes of the Storm! Thats how it works over there :P
Some abilities can.

Garen and Veigar become better at taking turrets than even Ziggs.
Kalista becomes a god-tier splitpusher as well.
Morg'd just drop W and walk away. Fucking melt turrets from a distance.

Play Hero's of the Storm and find out first hand.
If you really want this just play

Sometimes I forget that they don't, which kinda sucks. You'd figure if an ability can damage anything else on the map (characters, minions, Baron/Herald/Drake, etc.) they should damage turrets.
