I don't even play Kalista but I feel sorry for that champion...

I don't know what to say about that champion nor will I say I understand her because I only saw that champion in my games maximum 30 times in my entire life of playing League of Legends. And most of the matches were ARAM. But it's amazing how even a small buff can make her a god tier and how a small nerf can make her a troll pick. There is no in between.

At this point, what's the best act of mercy for this champion? Rework perhaps? (I'll leave a poll just for the fun of it)

For those who played this game for a long time, what was your experience playing with and against Kalista? Was she that much of a toxic champion?

kalista was a mistake

riot specifically nerfed lucian for being an mobile ADC and then riot eventually made kalista who had better mobility than release lucian.

riot just does shit that clearly isn't good for the game and then the only way for them to fix it is to go hard in wiping it away or over buffing it.

For those who played this game for a long time, what was your experience playing with and against Kalista?

depends, there have been 2 different eras the first one was from kalista's release until 2016/2017, where the champion could 1v5 because of the broken passive.

then riot fixed it by making the dash speed reduced if she gets slowed after that the passive became a normal passive since it didn't get advantages over normal adcs who could just orb walk

then after 2017, riot made E refounding 100% of its cost if you killed a single minion with it hahaha that time, kalista in high elo/proplay had 100% lane win rate against any adc

after 2018 riot nerfed her range by 25 and removed the E mana cost refound

I thought by now they would have moved her HOPS to a passive something like every 3 auto's get a HOP or move it to her ult 5 secs after ulting get HOPS idk

no one even knows the actual nerf that removed her from the game. exile says it's that ult cooldown nerf like lol no one gives a shit about that.

her AA's, and I'll never forget this cause its just a mark of how broken the champ is, are not permitted to deal 100% of their damage, they only deal 90% of the damage they're supposed to deal. patch 5.13, the only nerf that counted at the end of the day. still has yet to be reverted.

Honestly just rework her at this point, she only has 2 Damaging Abilities (Q, E), her Passive reduces her Basic Attack Damage to 90%.

She has way too many tools for Pro Play to be abused (R being one of them, W Passive Partner Damage) and unnecessary amount of Utility that doesn't work with her Character or Theme (W granting free scouting and vision, making her ungank-able in the right hands).

  • Her Q is nothing special.
  • Her W doesn't work with her Kit.
  • Her E is sort of okay but it doesn't work too well mainly because of how fast paced the game has become, as well as the fact that everyone has burst now a days regardless who you play.
  • And her R is just a free GA.

Honestly the best way to preserve her imo is just make her work similarly to Lucian. Keep her Playstyle of being Mobile, requiring to Kite, but give her other tools to be able to duel better.

Here's a few rough suggestions...

P: The same but Backward Dashing is further and Forward Dashing is shorter. Remove all other parts in her current Passive.

Q: Keep it the same but add 2 things; Make enemies get Stunned when they get pierced into Terrain and make it so that her Q pierces through all Units which add a single stack of Black Spear to all Units hit.

W: Still working on it.

E: The Same but when she detonates the stacks she Slows the Enemy (The Slow is based on amount of Stacks Detonated), and Grounds the Enemy (Duration based on amount of Stacks Detonated).

R: Still working on it.

The general gist is to give her the tools for timing abilities in the right moment to be more rewarding. Imagine she Throws a Q into a Kha'Zix who is ganking her, and when he Jumps, she Activates her E and then he get's Slowed and Knock-Down due to being Grounded.

Tbh I kinda wish both Varus and Kalista could get like a massive VGU, both of them feel really unrewarding and generally quite weak due to not really having their own niche as to why you would pick them specifically over any other Marksman.

Let's just say that, nowadays, I respect anyone who has the courage to instalocks Kalista. For real though, she's in such a rough spot that I don't know wether I should be happy or scared when she's picked, cause it could be a somewhat inexpirienced player or die hard main that locked her, hats off to those brave people.

As for silver, I could go higher IF I cared. People can see my Morgana stats show I am on par with Plats and even Challenger players.

Only lowbies like him think "rank matter".

imo Riot should do to bring her a bit back into meta:

Bring back her range to 550 (as they nerf in patch 8.5) or Remove her passive AAs deal 90% of her total AD. (that Riot added to her in patch 5.13) or Bring back her passive: 25% increased range when dashing backward. (That they removed back in patch 5.9)
