Mage Fizz counters?

First season playing League. I like to play mages in midlane, but find myself getting destroyed by .

Against I know how to pick around but it seems that every mage I pick against Fizz just gets stomped on. I played fizz a decent amount to understand him more got to lvl 4 so nothing crazy. But I still get stomped on. I just know which mages suck more than others against him. I generally play mid lane.

I looked up something about and and being good against fizz. Other than that i guess champs with more cooldowns and hard cc?

I have success picking Kassadin into fizz. not really a mage though.

I mean he plays a lot more like an assassin than a mage. Thats like saying "how is Diana not a mage". He is an anti magic assassin.

Lissandra and Ryze are pretty much fool proof counter picks, but if you do some how manage to die he will still snowball out of control.

With morgana a good idea would be to get a rod first, and also putting another point into your E between maxing your W would do a lot of good too

Also never use your Q offensively because the second you use it and miss you have no other way of defending yourself against him and he can all in you
