Takes too long to earn blue essence , the champion capsules you get from leveling is only worth 1200 Blue essence and when disenchanting skins for orange essence they reduced it to 170. In order to unlock a champion with orange essence its like 675+.

Very Hard Engage8 votesits a scam in the sense that they are trying to pawn it off as better/quicker than before, when its not. they did the calculation assuming the same exp from 30-31 the whole way but it takes more exp over time to level up and the rewards aren't getting better.
they cherry picked favorable data
your rewards will slow down over time. ask them do to a calculation of levels 75-85 and see if the rewards are the same as 31-41 vs how many games have to put in and what you could have gotten with regular IP in the old days.
they should just go ahead and make static blue essence per individual game played, no more chests, no more "leveling beyond 30" its just stupid.

which i could have used to unlock say.... 50 champions instead? (the whole rest of the roster, i own most of the champs)

there were only about 40 at the time and the price still hasn't changed from day 1.
you would figure if riot actually wanted new players to own all the champions (which they dont) they would reduce costs over time, but they dont. its a 2-1 ratio, that blatantly says cost of entry is only going to rise. ' they know and understand 6300 is a month or two for most players. which is significantly out of your reach. anything else is an absurd PR nightmare, they are already charging you as much as they can without backlash.

Very Hard Engage1 votesbut then you also have to understand, the bulk of players, silver and bronze, dont buy runes at all, hence why they're silver/bronze, those important stats are just an afterthought where their primary goal is to buy a champion that they like to play and just have fun down in that elo.
those are the masses whom riot needs to win over.
you're overlooking the demographic of teenagers and children who just play in their off school hours and dont even understand the value or importance of rune advantage.
they just see "zed is a cool ninja, i have to buy zed/yasuo" and not even care that they still have 2 rune pages filled with t2 runes from level 20.
