The glorious evolution: Viktors around the world

“Viktor’s one of the champions that got into the metagame after all the top-tier champions like Ahri, LeBlanc, and Zed got nerfed,"

"after all the top-tier champions like Ahri, LeBlanc, and Zed got nerfed,"

"got nerfed," then skips to

"It’s all well and good to look at how Viktor became popular,"

The obsession with staving off power creep has gone beyond odd into complete stupidity with the Veigar tweaks and the Kassadin range overnerf, the Eve W rework. Granted, the players aren't helping (one of them decided Ahri was overbuffed after the DFG removal) but they need to stop using their private test realms for balance and design data because whoever is on the realm is probably skewing things so badly that the balance team gets forced to put their necks on the PR guillotine every other patch.

Mid lane has always been interesting and generally off meta when it first starts in the pros. Cho Top and Jungle have been a thing for seasons, but now he is a midlane monster (pun intended). Is it the balance teams fault for not seeing his potential midlane? Not really, but being one of the last few champions in the game with a silence, they forced him to that role if people want his unique forms of crowd control.

Tl;DR, Blame riot when they change a champion and it becomes OP, don't blame riot when a champ spontaneously becomes OP.
