Does Shen counter Rammus?

I just first timed Shen and even though I was a support and the enemy Rammus was Fed.. I felt like I countered him SOOO HARD

like he was trying to run away and im kept dashing on him like "WHERE YOU THINK YOUR GOING?! GET BACK HERE!"

Like we started to lose a bit and when I started targeting Rammus with my dash we started doing better again..

It would be nice to know because due to Marksmans, rammus is played a lot and it'd be great if i can help my team by being the counter to their counter...

He add's a taunt layer that if you can taunt rammus, before rammus taunts your team - your team can take out their squishy first... wouldn't call it a counter pick so much as the ability to counter play.

I find the dash taunt to be pretty useful, Still getting to know him. learning his ranges, Did a second game just now, didn't do too good. Trying to think of ways to do better...

Shen's Q can slightly go against Rammus' taunt, but otherwise... not at all.

Aww I was kinda hoping he did, seemed like it. Oh well i got a lot to learn about Shen if I'm going to buy him.

Get relic shield.

More importantly, Shen is able to keep a team safe from Rammus, but it isn't exactly a counter. Rammus can't kill Shen with his return damage (at least, not quickly), and his AD from the passive can't get through the armor Shen is going to have. Add the fact that Shen can intercept Powerball, and well, you've got the reason why people pick Shen. He's a brick wall. Good at stopping other brick walls.

Yea I realized my stupidity.. xD

and yes.. there were times when I dashed into rammus when he was about to powerball my teamates.. and it stopped it.. it was really cool. I agree with the brick wall thing..

I love that shen can multi taunt.. like.. I once taunted people in a big group together.. and although I died my team managed to get an ACE at the expense of only 1...

It's a skill matchup really but shen is good cause he has instant, multi-hit hard CC that is very versatile in use: as a peeling tool, as an escape, as a chase tool or simply as an engage. I'd say Rammus has a lot more consistent dmg (especially in teamfights) shen puts out a lot too it's just more single tartget focus and he doesn't have any teamfight dmg without items unlike ramus. So shen has more team utility and rammus has more team dmg. They both have pick potential and good map presence.
