Hextech crafting question

So I understand you get loot filled chest depending on the champion mastery you have. My question is, let just say I have 5 lvl 5 champions, when the Hextech crafting is released would I already get the rewards for them or would they get ignored?

You understood it wrong. There is no connection between champion mastery and chest drops
