Bruiser Shaco is best Shaco tbh.
95% of the time I don't even bother finishing the jungle item. It gives good stats, but rushing Hydra allows you to clear better, sustain while split pushing or in the jungle, and offers an extra bit of burst. After that it depends on what the enemy team is like. If their AP is fed, Maw is a great choice. If their AD is strong, Iceborn into Deadmans. I've found that Shaco's burst is still quite potent with the Sheen proc from Iceborn along with your auto-crit + Deadmans. Deadmans also gives you chase/escape potential if the enemy team has a lot of mobility.
My build usually ends up looking like this:
+ either
or (very rarely)
This build still gives you strong burst while simultaneously making you a lot more difficult to kill than your average assassin. Having 40% CDR is highly underrated on Shaco, as it allows you to elude more reliably with Q, bait more often with boxes, and burst more frequently with E. Black Cleaver is often situational; I don't build it every game, I'd say about 60% of the time. Sometimes it will be a Shiv if I really need to kill a priority target, other times it will be a Zz'rot Portal if I need to split-push faster, or counter someone else's push.
Shaco has a lot more variability in his build path than people give him credit for. I've seen people go DPS Shaco with
and a bunch of on-hit items. I've seen full tank Shaco, with
and only
for damage. And then there are the AP builds (yes AP Shaco jungle can work, it's just a LOT slower to get rolling than AD Shaco). Good Shaco players know how to adapt and are not simply set into the traditional full AD build.
