Essence Reaver
I'm kind of confused why essence reaver is a bad purchase... can someone explain that to me? mostly on adcs like lucian, sivir, draven, ect. that can use the mana regen.

The attitude of most ADC's I've seen is that most of the time they should be auto-attacking and should only be using their abilities during engages and harass. It's not a bad item, but if you get it while your lane opponent rushes heavier damage items, you are likely to lose exchanges and can get bullied out of lane more easily.
I will take it as a 4th or 5th item on Varus often. I like it.
First item on cait (besides dorans blade). Cheaper the the IE rush, means I have more power in lane early, LS and inf mana sustain to spam skills. Overall I out level, gold, cs other ADC quickly.
And really any champ who uses a high combo of auto attacks and abilities can benefit from essence reaver, any other champ simply scales better with infinity edge and a mana pot, by the time you get around to building reaver, you don't really need the added sustain anymore.
