Is there any point in upgrading spellthief's edge?
Not finding any use in upgrading this item as 
are 10x better items

If you can get it early, your gold gain becomes much better. If you intend on upgrading it to the third tier FQC then you should consider it even more important.
Don't sacrifice key items like Sightstone on first back for it though. You have to consider the situation at hand (how much gold you have and if you really need to rush another item).
