Low impact of ad carries on the game

I mean I am pretty sure this is one of the hottest topics in league and to be honest there's a reason behind. Let's say you're playing a game as Jhin, everything's cool you know... you pick up some kills in lane and you end up something like 4/0/2 in lane. Mid game starts, and so do teamfights, you're lvl 11 let's say... the thing you didn't notice is the enemy has a riven top who has the same score as you 4/0/2 but is lvl 14... both of you are on the same skill level, still he has a much bigger chance to win the game than you as the 3 lvl advantage he has is too impactful in the teamfights you have and you end up losing the game. The problem was, besides your summoners (flash/heal usually) you didn't have any kind of self protection and you had to rely too much on your team (and positioning which is sometimes a non-factor as a 45% cdr riven with all her gap closers can easily get to you most of the time regardless of your position).

I was constantly thinking about it lately and wanted to share an idea with you (maybe stupid, maybe not, that's why I want some opinions on this topic). I believe if ad carries could get a buff which wouldn't affect laning much so they could be more viable in teamfights, the role would have its meaning back. So the idea is to make ad carries at their laning phase to NOT share experience with their support (something like the mordekaiser passive I think?) so there wouldn't be a 3-4 level difference between the ad carry and the mid/jungle/top laner, so he wouldn't die that easily to them. If however their damage would be too high, they could lower each ad carry's AD per level. Thoughts ? :)

Sorry if there are any mistakes in the text, English is not my native language, so if you find any let me know :)

that's why you would dodge a game without an adc but would be completely ok with quinn or vayne top instead of a bruiser, clearly it's because adc are too weak

That's not the case at all to be honest. I never feel comfortable having an adc at top in my team. They can kite, but if put behind, they're really weak.

let's put it that way, you have an option to have adc top and adc bot or you have an option to have no adc top and no adc bot, which one you would rather dodge?

adc is the only role which is mandatory. you can play without mages, assassins, tanks, supports (having a random champion which doesn't farm, usually a bruiser or a mage), but you can't play without an adc without hindrering yourself/hoping to cheese and snowball the bot

dodge both, no tank or strong splitpush top is asking for a bad time if they get even slightly behind

ADC struggling in the current meta doesn't mean they need a buff, it means after a round of nerfs they'll be on top again. The dominate ADCs are the safest, Jhin and Cait with their distance and Vayne/Ezreal for their self peel.

Don't get me wrong I'm with you about ADC being in a tough spot, but buffs and nerfs is what makes the game a constant cluster F---. It's a big reason why I took up the support role, a game where the ADC is relevant is a game you'll probably win.

Vayne is not a safe ADC. I honestly don't know where this meme started.

She is consistently in the top five most likely to die ADCs.

Anyway, the ADC feels like it has low impact by itself because it does.

Most ADCs can not solo carry a game. You need a team comp that is able to protect you, and a team that is willing to.

By contrast, someone like Yasuo or Wukong can force plays and kills in the middle of the enemy team if they are fed and kill the enemy ADC pretty easily.

This is fine. The champions that have the most overall influence over the game should not generally be self-sufficient.

for me, ADCs are a tired old mechanic that is only really need for taking objectives. The game is actually more fun in matches where neither side has an ADC (see the custom gamemode where you ban for the enemy, ban all ADCs). The game is less "lets get ADC fed" and more "let fight together, and win objectives".

I never liked them and right now, they're adequate without being disruptively powerful. They do their job well enough, they do high DPS, they take objectives, they don't need to be anything else...
