Poppy.....

I have seen the other threads. Yes I understand that olaf counters poppy in lane, and that supposedly poppy had a bad early game, but what if the poppy is picked after you already picked a top laner? What do you do against a poppy? Most poppys that I have seen go full sustain start and max flat defense runes/masteries. What do you do against this? If you harass them, you run out of mana (and health if the enemy creep attack you) while she just recovers back the minimal damage you do. You cant ignore her, or she just gets free last hits, and thats not a champion you can out scale with a CS battle. The next best choice would be to get your jungler to gank. The problem with this of course is that once she is low, her passive keeps her alive as she uses her speed buff to outrun you both. And lee is the only common jungler with true damage that I can think of, but he doesn't have enough CC pre-6 to keep poppy in the fight when she starts her run. If its post-6, the jungler or myself is rendered useless as she ults one person and walks away. (or kills them)

So the most common scenario is i harass as much as I can while still getting last hits and she pretty much ignores me. I rarely get a jungle gank, and if I do she either takes no dmg, or shops and teleports back with another full set of sustain items. If he ganks again, she just blows some of those sustain items and stays creeping. I have never gotten a third consecutive gank, nor should i really expect to. Around level 6-7 poppy (earlier if she killed me or the jungler) goes to shop and comes back with refreshed flask, as well as sheen and some other item. (other item varies) From this point on I cant do anything. If I fight, i die. If im a melee, I cant creep or I die. If im a ranged, she usually charges, hits hard then backs into bushes. And repeats over and over. I dont usually die anymore, but she still dominates after lvl 6-7 even if the lane is 0-0.

I have never won vs a poppy unless I was olaf, and the only reason i did well with him was because his true damage goes through her uber tanky passive. I realize im not that great a player, but I have never had a problem with any other character. Im told that in my ELO counters dont matter, sure, but how do I play vs poppy? I don't want to play olaf every time I go top. I dont think he is very fun to play.

If you need more info, the chars I have lost to poppy as are Pantheon, Fiora, Riven, Nasus, and J4. I realize none of these are counters, but sometimes you have to pick first. Surely at least one of these champions is supposed to be able to keep her under control, or at least go even in creep. I don't see the weak early game that everyone raves about.
