Why is Riot trying to force people to play summoners rift?

Serious question when looking at the quests. It's all summoners rift stuff. Are that many people not playing SR that they have to entice/force ( depending on your point of view ) people to play there? I much preferred the quests that had two options like Kill 2 dragons or play 7 games. I can't stand SR and ranked.
