leaverbuster inconsiderate.

what is this nonsense where riot forces you to type out ''I Agree'' not to leave games anymore?

''Going AFK or abandoning a match (even if it's unintentional) isn't cool. it wastes everyone's time, hurts your teammates, and you'll face harsher penalties if it keeps happening. So, help us out: can you agree to not leave any further games?''

this is inconsiderate and legally wrong, anyhow i will HOLD riot to account for anything that happens because they try to force me to keep playing no matter what, because its ''not cool'' [slayer-jinx-unamused]

burgler breaks in while playing league: HEY! the silver cutlery is that way hurry up!, you are distracting me! [sg-ahri-3] psychopathic homocidal maniac looking through the window while you're playing league .-.: lets him in and tells him he can be psychotic after league! [sg-syndra] house is on fire: takes laptop with outside to continue playing while roasting marshmallows! [sg-jinx] what its a pc? asks neighbours to put out the fire with extinquisher while playing?? XD works in the sims O,O earthquake happens~: keeps playing in awkward positions! just ''shaking'' it off . (nice practice) [sg-kiko] tsunami: continues playing on surfboard! [sg-miss-fortune] car drives through your wall: pizza delivery!?????? [sg-poppy] terrorist attack: you think you can hold that nade for 20 more minutes? [sg-lux-2] power outage: is running pc/laptop on manual recharger! [sg-ezreal] mum unplugs the cable: gets leaverbuster punishment .o. [sg-ahri-1] well she never agreed did she? :/

how the heck can a game company hold their players responsible for this? this system needs removal or at least that weird message O.o riot is telling people to ignore whatever happens, and just keep playing league -.- since when is a game more important than life????? since when is WASTING time already wasted on a game so horrible that it requires agreeing to ignore life?, and be 100% focused on a GAME?

so i assume riot also takes responsibility for this? legally seen they put themselves in a bad position.

can a riot employee explain all this please? zero empathy or tolerance, just punish those even when its not their fault? riot created judge dredd? [sg-janna]

Hello there!

Unfortunate if something happened to your league client or something came up in real life. The system cannot tell the difference between you doing it intentionally or if it was accidental.

its easily implemented, the client should hold a log, all it takes is some pathing...... so why hasen't it been done?

Prob because in TOS, (that you agreed too) they say you're not allowed to leave midgame.

You're breaking the rules and they are at least giving you a second chance about it when they have every right to dish out an actual punishment.

So it's not legally wrong.

yes it is, ToS is not a lawfull document, punishing people for leaving a game and forcing them to agree with it, no matter what happens inreal can have severe consequences and thus put riot in a legally bad position.

It is lawful.

No, riot cannot be put in a bad legal situation because it's a legal documentation that will be held up in court.

They are not forcing anyone to agree to it and play, there are many other games out there to find on your own.

lol the fact that even if you agree riot CAN be held responsible IF someone decides to keep playing under certain stressfull or dangerous circumstances.

just because they leave you a choice not to type it, doesn't mean its not forced, without it you can't continue to play.

a ToS is not legally binding or enforcable by default, no signature was used in the first place, the company would have to prove if X person actually agreed, and not someone using their IP or ID, in the end only a (legitimate) judge could decide.

Go ahead and try to sue riot right now for this, see how that turns out.

With most things in life, you will sign something that will make it where said company cannot be held as liable, people will be mad... all because they didn't read the ToS and agreed then got upset.

But if you feel you've been done so wrong and it is so unlawful, you're welcome to take legal action against riot; don't expect the best outcome for yourself though.

it doesn't work that way lol, only a and i will have to say ''legitimate judge'' can decide upon that. just because they mention they cannot be held liable doesn't mean they cannot be held liable.....

I understand that you may have client or connectivity issues, however you are still leaving your team 4v5 until you return, if you ever do.

It can be frustrating, but this is little in the way of making your team feel better knowing they were not forced to play 4v5 for nothing.

Do you think its fair to make your team 4v5? Would you be happy if someone did it to you? That's the point of leaverbuster, it does not discriminate against anything, because its just so easy to unplug that ethernet cable, or to power down your machine that it cannot differentiate well enough as to why you disconnected and make it fair on people who would abuse the system.

no you didn't leave, you were FORCED out of play there is a massive difference. i find the time you get for returning kinda low, they might take average restart time in consideration though.

you say that as if everyone does that on purpose .-.

is there really no way to compensate a 4 or less vs5???? a pause? more time to return? a active support that contacts you after multiple leaves/afks before an actual punishment? to help you with client and connectivity issues? a punishment based on whether they did or did not reconnect and if the match was won or not, a bit consideration goes a long way with said player reconnected.

bugsplat, client malfunctions and errors should be filtered out since the client should hold a log on it O.o power outages can be proven since they get registered by alot of companies, a malfunction by router/provider is tricky i guess.

but why is that weird ''I Agree'' there? can't they add that to the ToS?????? truth be told no one can actually agree to it, since issues might arise in the future O.o

real life happens... riot gets this, you are not going to get banned or punished in any way if u happen to leave one game every 3 months becuase of a real life issue.

but every day or 3-4 times a week or once every week or two riot might take issue with.

if u want absolute proof, for riot... start streaming, then if your house catches fire or someone breaks in.. you will HAVE your proof. to show them. or just play a different game when u know something might come up.

i had to stop playing ranked for TWO MONTHS because of internet issue.. life happens.

I was in a premade lobby with a few rioters, and my game wouldn't open and I got a directX issue. Guess what? I got hit with Leaverbuster for their remake.

It doesn't matter WHAT caused it, or what happened... You left the game, and if you took a minute to read what I already explained about there being zero way of checking the authenticity of DC's....

Riot do not need to baby sit you, if you are aware you have connectivity issues or technical issues, it is up to you as the player to get in contact with riot.

Riot cannot and most likely won't do anything, because if they contact you about it "oh sorry Im having connectivity issues with my isp" will be used by every kid and his dog when they raged out and alt+f4'd their game.

wait, they caused you to have a directX issue so they can remake O.o ?

leaving means you had a choice, you didn't have much of a choice right?

ofcourse, its just that this ''I Agree'' message is weird, and things could improve imho.

and what if my dog ate the provider?
