Rek'Sai - Adding a balanced form of CC and sharkyness
I know this is pretty late, as the next update comes in less than 24 hours, but I think I found a way to improve Rek'Sai, without changing her power balance too much.
I start with 1 part of her theme: Land Shark.
The only thing that matches this theme is the fin which peaks out, while she is burrowed. Also her only CC is a Knock'Up...most sharks don't knock their prey up (the only one I know is Fizz's friend Chomper), but rather pull them down.
So this is my suggestion: Enable AA's on her burrowed form, which root her target for 1 second, have an extended range (around 550 Range) and allow her to dash to her target.
This seems and is extremely powerful, so it needs a limitation of some sort. For this I looked at other Champions and found something similiar on Nautilus's passive and Udyr's Bear Stance. With an On-Target cooldown (I think 8 seconds are fair) the CC can be put in a balanced context and it shouldn't only disable the Root, but also the AA on this target. Also Rek'Sai's limited sight range while being burrowed limits the use of this effect as it still counts as an AA, which leaves her with the following options to use it:
- Being very close to her target to actually see it, which takes away the dash.
- Landing her Prey Seeker (which gives the name some more sense).
- Relying on the sight of her team mates.
- Having a lot of well placed wards.
Finally I would also limit it to be used only on big neutral monsters and champions, as the dash could be used otherwise like Yasuo's Sweeping Blade as a spammable escape and her Tunnel ability is already very strong in this regard and so should be limited in its uses (still usable as such, but with the limitations of either having a ward or a team mate in place).
