Season 6 Ranking Placements Explained
As many of you have noticed and have expressed concerns about, your ranking in Season 6 is roughly one full tier below last season.
Some of you feel betrayed that you went 6/4, 7/3, 8/2 and still placed in Bronze from Silver in the last season. This is because of the soft reset that was implemented. Those of you who did well in your placements will notice that if you finished Silver 5 last season, that you started Bronze 3. That's 2 full divisions above the others who fared far less.
Preseason brought some substantial changes to the game (learn more about preseason here), so we’re again running a soft reset before placements kick off. As with previous years because of the soft reset, you’ll likely place lower than where you ended last year.
Ranked isn't supposed to be a stagnant place to get borders, skins. It's supposed to be a place where you can show that you've bettered yourself, a place that you have to climb to maintain, and a place that you're not content with just always being Bronze, Silver, Gold, Plat, or Diamond. This is meant to push you to go farther than you did the past season without you starting in the same exact place as you finished.
Why should you start in Silver just because you finished there? What motivation do you have to get back to that point or surpass it if you're already there?
You should always strive to do better than you did before, strive to prove yourself every season, and strive to show that you deserve your rank.
If you think that you should be Gold, prove it. If you think that you should be Plat, prove it. If you think that you should be Diamond, prove it.
Put in the effort to get there. Complaining about matches won't do anything except show that you make excuses for why you can't make it. It is a team game. Yelling at your teammates for mistakes won't help them learn. If you think that you know better, then coach them. Don't demand that they do things your way just because you say so. You have to explain things RATIONALLY AND REASONABLY.
Apologize for your mistakes. Don't make excuses for why you're losing lane. Ask for help politely. Don't demand it or yell at other lanes. You have to show that you want to be better than toxic players who bring the game down.
Yes, there will be trolls, AFKs, RQs, and players who are having bad games. These make having a good game difficult, but you want to have fun while playing. If you turn this game into a chore, you'll start to hate it and complain about everything.
Have fun and prove yourself this season, KyroRayne
