How about we make it so ezreal's mystic shot doesn't proc runeglaive, or just go extreme and make it so he cant buy runeglaive. Adding champion specific interactions would be much easier than destroying the first chance at having an AP jungle meta.
I thought they made it so that it didn't proc ludens? Haven't played league in a few days so I'm not sure if that fixed it.
I might have a different thinking then Riot but I feel smite items should only be used on Junglers. Some of the smite Items just aren't jungle specific enough which is why when they get too strong people just take them to lane. Kind of how Diana seems to be taken mid more than jungle. Maybe make it so that you have to kill a certain number of camps or neutral monsters with hunter's machete before you can buy a jungle item? That way, if you spend most of your time in lane you won't have easy access to a jungle item.
Have you considered that AP Ezreal isn't even that OP, especially now that he can't proc Luden's Echo with his mystic shot? Look at the stats from last patch - even experienced Ezreal players with >100 games still had only 48% win rate with him in the mid lane. I bet that's going to drop further now that Luden's Echo doesn't proc on it.
Better idea is just to remove runeglaive, real ap junglers dont build it anyways and its almost like the ap jungle option was removed anyways unless you are diana.
