Understanding Rito Ranking System

Just actually wondering how the ranking system actually works and functions. i started this season at bronze 5, climbed up to gold 5. was getting about 20 lps a win. get to gold 5 immediately lose 3 games. win a couple, lose every game after that. get demoted and as soon as i get demoted back to silver 1 i lose 20 and gain 9.

from what i understand it is just the system saying i got "lucky" and doesnt think i belong

So what i have read so far is that im being paired up against people i should be doing better against and when i lose i lose more lp than i gain. but if its pairing me against supposedly worse, is it also pairing me with worse players as well?

just wondering how that would work and if i should literally just thrash this account. ie, just troll it till im back in bronze, wait for it to even out again and just do the climb again cuz that doesnt seem like a good player tactic but if it would start pairing me with people my skill level on my team instead of 2 or 3 ranks below

The thing is that they're not below your skill level; your rank is above where your skill level is. You need to sustain a high win rate to prove that you're actually above their skill level.

The system pairs you with people who have similar MMR. Your LP gains depend on your MMR and league. So if your MMR is too low for your league you will lose more and gain less and vice versa. There is no point in thrasing your account. For one its against the rules and can get your ranked banned.

well Big Hans im not saying i am going to do that cuz im not that type of player. i just was wondering if you are being paired with people below your skill level while the ranking system balances you out than what would stop me from destroying my own account just to match with people waaayy lower than my actual skill level to get that high win rate that Farmer was talking about, which with that high win rate lp gains now climbing out would be so much easier than sitting here going up and down while it tries to balance it out. And that doesnt seem like something Rito would actually do. and thats why im asking how the ranking system works cuz ive heard multiple things.

So what it sounds like is right now my MMR whatever that may be is being paired with similar MMR like you said even if those people have 2-3 ranks below me (meaning our actual ranks have no indication of what our skill level actually is and is just a pretty title to brag about) and if the enemy team is my MMR than my teammates should also be of similar MMR than right as well? or is it meaning that im supposed to be better than them and carry them? also would duos still affect that as well ( if i remember reading somewhere if you duo with someone than the enemy team has a higher MMR because the system feels you have an advantage) So than if the system is trying to balance me out with a losing streak right now, and pairs me up with a duo of a bronze and silver would the enemy team still be better or matched in terms of MMR?
