Pay to Play in Ranked! - An idea for the competitive player base.

I've played this game for a few years now. Thousands of games later I've come to the realization that many people play this game because its free and that's fine. Many people troll or treat people terribly..why? THERE IS NO RISK. They didn't lose anything but some skins that MAYBE their parents paid for..etc. An idea I had after two 13 year olds decided to troll champ select is to make it pay to play in ranked que. Riot gets money, customers get people that are SERIOUS about playing the game correctly. You allow people to play all other modes as is, but ranked costs a small fee of $10+ per season. THis gives people a value to their account and game play. It also takes 10 year olds out of the equation. Sure, some people might be mad, but because the game itself is great, norms will thrive. Ranked will be more competitive than EVER and your customer base that wants to play the game the right way will be happy with their small investment.

Why do people think that putting up a paywall will magically make trolls disappear? If this was the case, there wouldn't be flamers, ragers, and afkers in PvP in WoW.

What about people who play League because it's free? And what stops 10 year olds from writing off the $10 the same way you say they do about skins they've paid for?

Money does nothing to root out idiots and kids. Havent you learned anything the last 10 years?

what about if rito would make league similar to starcraft?:) you download a game and you can play only custom/co vs ai. if you want go to PVP you need pay like 30 bucks. that would allow people to play, and i bet most will simply stay in custom.

The reason I quit WoW was because they added a Cash Shop on top of the stupid Pay to Play. They were already getting money to begin with. By what standard do you think it is fair to punish those who want a fair game payment design while being fair to other people?
