The only champion is seemed pretty stupid on was Soraka, given her super short CD heal. Isn't this a problem with Soraka? Why nerf the mastery all together? I really liked the 15% increase. It made me choose between shielding someone with high resist to be a mega tank, or shielding my ADC for a smaller increase.
ProfDrDeath2 votesThey probably want to make the mastery as useful if you're healing squishies as it is if you're healing tanks. Currently, with the %-bonus, healing a target with already high resistances is a lot more beneficial than just healing someone with basic values in Armor and MR.
Numbers are indicative of that - Up to 22 Armor and 11 MR is far more than 15% on a squishy (80-90 Armor (12-13.5) and 40-60 MR (6-7.5)).

Were gods with it? Protecting and healing their ADC from all dangers or anyone for that matter..
Lucifer1 votesThe only one who was a "God" with it was Soraka, but that is because of the 10% increase and her low CD, which she's still getting. Sona and Janna are both gated by high mana costs and long cooldowns. If you want to get technical, it's stronger on Janna and Sona in lane, because you're getting more flat armor on your ADC during lane phase. Now you just have less options on who to shield/heal later in the game. Tanks are by and large still completely dominating the bottom lane, with the exception of Soraka, who is pretty much perma banned.

15% is 15 bonus Defenses per 100 (armor or MR)
VS 5-22 Armor and 2.5-11 MR.
I might argue that this could be a buff in certain situations. Particularly with glass cannon team comps, who don't build much Armor and MR.

This was huge, 15% damage blocked is no joke, especially if you factor in natural resistances
