Varus mid/adc

Hi guys!Profiting the fact he's in the free rotatio, i'd like to try a little . Need some suggestion on the gameplay style and the build to do.Also, i'd like to know when and with kind of team it's good to pick a varus as adc/midlaner.For now i played just one game with him, in which i got flamed 4 my build : . Someone can pls tell me why? (if i did a BIG error i swear i'm not trolling, it's just i really rarely play adc, and i have just 2 champ i can use in this role, with more or less static builds).

You went for an auto-attack crit build, which is fine for Varus ADC, but it's not what you want on Varus mid. Taking him mid is about using him as an AD caster. That means you want to get Manamune for the mana and CDR boots. Follow it up with lots of Apen, both LW and Ghostblade. BT is good though.

If you want to build him ADC, just make sure you pick Shiv OR PD and buy an Apen item.

you should always build last whisper and runan hurricane as much as is a funny item is not worth to buy it on almost all champions maybe except teemo kayle and kalista in my opinion a better build would be item 3031 item 3086 item 3035 item 3046 item 3072 and than you choice or a defensive item or an other offensive item like botrk item 3139 item 3172 for the midlane item 3043 item 3142

IMO when i play varus mid, i want to chunk my lane opponent out and just be a lane bully. to that effect (In order) item 3508 item 3158 item 3072 item 3139 item 3071 / item 3172 / item 3142 (depending on needs; team fights, split pushing, or backdooring) item 3026

Essence reaver is VERY good on AD caster varus, as it provides a massive power spike for MUCH cheaper than BT, and isnt delayed like muramana. It also stops him from going OoM.

Go essence reaver instead of muramana :c Its a better item and does more damage overall.

No it's not, and no it doesnt.

Essense Reaver costs 1000g more, does less damage than a stacked Muramana, and the mana sustain is unreliable in the mid-late game when auto attacking isn't always a viable option for Varus.

Furthermore, you don't get any mana returns on Essence Reaver until you finish the item, so in the early game when mana is most limited you'll be missing out.

Really the only thing that Essence reaver has which Muramana does not is the BF sword component so your Q will deal a little more damage until you have 500+ stacks on manamune. But it still won't be sustainable damage unless you're buying tons of mana potions.

You... have never played AD caster varus without a muramana, have you? You farm till a BF sword, then go into essence reaver; as soon as you buy your BF, two or three fully charged Qs will force your lane opponent out of lane.

Its a question of powerspikes, mostly. Essence reaver has a MUCH earlier spike than the tear item. And essence reaver has a TON of stats varus likes. 80AD, cooldown, lifesteal...

He can work in pretty much any composition. He's able to stay far enough away and poke with his Q that he doesn't really need a dedicated front line, and he can use his ult to peel if someone is diving him. Main issue is if the enemy team has assassins, so don't pick into that if you can help it.
