PSA: Ranked Restrictions are punishment for bad behavior. Not gameplay

I usually don't do this. But I've been saying a lot of requests for ranked restrictions based on gameplay lately. That's not how it works. If you're toxic often enough, you get a ranked restriction. You don't get one for winning too many games, you don't get it for losing either. You won't be getting restricted for smurfing, unintentionally feeding, or breaking the meta either.

Just reminding everyone that this is a punishment and not a general way to prevent playing. That would be toxic on Riot's part.

EDIT: I find it interesting that people are more concerned with why people should be punished, while this post was aimed at why they shouldn't be. But I guess it's the same over all debate. And a good debate at that!

Keep it up guys! This is a relevant topic that too many people don't seem to understand. Even the most closed-minded (down voted) players have valuable contributions.
