Gameplay as Galio versus a Rek'sai

Hey guys,

I don't usually post here, but I felt that this is a huge problem for a champ that I have loved for awhile, Galio. I was testing him out for a team that I coach, and while I was playing a game with him with a rek'sai on the enemy team, everytime I ulted, the reksai could knock me out of it because he was always burrowed. Now, there are only a handful of champions that can get caught in the ult and have an AA CC (mainly, udyr's bear stance, leona's shield of day break, and a few others.) the thing about Galio is that he is an initiator, and should be rewarded for catching an enemy team off guard. (during a siege, flash ulting into the enemy team before they can react.) but during sieges and also 80% of the game, Rek'sai is burrowed, meaning, if there is rek'sai on the enemy team, galio is useless.

People are probably thinking, ban rek'sai or pick him. I get that part, that's the strategy of pick and ban. but 1 champion should not to be able to make another champ's strongest point, useless for the entire game. Riot just buffed Galio so people don't walk out of his ult but wanted to keep the part where's teams can work together to stop his ult, but giving him and opponent that will stop his ult 90% just because he is there doesn't seem right to me.

I ask for a solution that doesn't require having to always buy a banshee's veil and hope it doesn't pop before you initiate. I feel that this is a huge problem to who Galio is. If maybe rek'sai could only auto attack while burrowed if he get taunted, or just not be able to auto attack at all. The taunter should be rewarded for the 1 team that he hits taunt on Rek'sai and not Rek'sai getting rewarded for the many times he is burrowed.

That's about it for this little rant/ discussion.

Thanks for reading, Volorap

You should really think twice before casting your ult onto an enemy team which also includes a burrowed Rek'Sai. Have someone, or yourself, to dive into the team to initiate first, then when Rek'Sai burrows out, only then you cast your ult.

Its no different than Xin having the ability to prepare his Q when you Ult him to knock you out of it.

Just plan ahead accordingly and don't Ult when Rek'Sai is burrowed or just don't her in general.

Actually you do make a very valid point OP, essentially you CANNOT engage as Galio if the enemy team has a Rek'Sai nearby..... and as a Galio player myself who simply hasn't run into this yet I find this quite annoying....

I mean the only thing I would personally do is not engage if Rek'Sai is nearby, I'd focus more on the teamfighting in regards to my ult, saving it until the fight was on and either Rek'Sai was deep and I could grab the enemy backline or waiting for her to unburrow first THEN ulting.

Yeah it will forever be annoying, having to change your playstyle if there's a Rek'Sai even close by, but like you and others have said there are other champs you have to take into account as well when trying to place a good ult, it's just a slightly more difficult version of the same thing this time.

Honestly I'd probably try to get Rek'Sai to engage on me, as the AP carry, so that even if she managed to burrow again before I ulted there's still that knock-up delay. Again not easy, but still doable.

I thought galio was immune to hard CC while in his ult form?
