Full AD is a lot more viable than full AP.

With the advent of myriad armor shred/pen and TLD, it is entirely possible to win using only AD.

Well, a six item build is late game and an all AD team can drop towers easily to get a lead. That means that using armor to counter all AD is a matter of outlasting the siege. Play safe. If you get an early lead than any little bit of armor shuts them down.

item 3071 item 3156 item 3142 item 3147 item 3036 along with the likes of Corki Renekton JarvanIV who have in-built armor shred. Not to mention you can start the game with 22 Flat Armor Pen on Assassins such as Zed through Runes and Masteries alone as well as deal mixed damage burst via Zed Passive and Thunderlord's Decree.

The game's no longer in a state of balance where Damage Dominates Resistances or Resistances Dominate Damage. Damage can be built against, as can resistances. Attack Speed Reduction is near-meaningless if the Champion affected by it deals a fair portion of their damage through Abilities.
