It should show in champ select somewhere if they use the preferred pick system, by the icon of the champion i should next to it or on it, It would clarify things because lets be honest, if we see a cass in champ select im usually questioning the pick because i dont know if youre good with her, However if i see a level 6 near her icon i will be a lot more confident into her pick choice

anyone can get to lvl 7 if you play enough. even if they don't, ban their own champ and see how that goes. have fun when mid picks soraka and runs down mid

Don't see why not. If people want to be "Trolli", they'll find a time to do it whether it's over something so trivial as masteries or feeding Teemo a First Blood, telling him to build a Mejai's Soulstealer, intentionally feeding the rest of the match and yet obviously not banned for it. Surprise, it was a Yasuo.
That being said, getting pretty annoyed at not being able to see enemy borders/masteries. I really don't care what percentage of the community reacts badly when they see a Challenger on the enemy team, their bad behavior should not become my problem.
Suddenly my champion pool has shrunk to 7 champions and I get flamed if I pick any others.
Never even mind that I have level 6 on one of those mostly from playing her a lot before a rework and I was never actually especially good at her even then.
aneat idea but honestly regardless of if you have a mastery on a champ or not. a risky pick is a risky pick, you can 100 to 0 all the carries and be an untouchable god with someone like 
with no mastery icon on him or you can feed your ass off with 7 mastery into 
it doesn't really matter, what matters is how you actually perform in game.
I have seen so many mastery 7 players that are the absolute worst making me question how they achieved the grades to get the mastery in the first place and I have seen people with no mastery banner at all and absolutely wreck people. Sometimes those masteries don't mean shit. Everyone has bad and good games as well. A mastery 7 isn't guaranteed a win on that champ just because they achieve high mastery on it.
Then you have the special assholes that'll ban your champ out of spite for you being mastery lvl 7 on them
I got a level 7 Kog icon. Doesn't mean anything because I spammed nearly 100 games with him, and got lucky in 3 games.
Finally, my

But we all know yasuos on our team feed wether they have level 7 or 2!
Just cause they have a mastery doesn't always mean they are good at someone. Mastery 1-5 take no skill at all, 6-7 do take a bit more effort but doesn't always mean they can pull off the same thing every game that got them the mastery.

This is a very good change, I agree with you.
Most of us (I hope), want to coordinate with our team, but do not know if all of them are experienced with the champion they picked. Having a mastery in champion select can be assuring about allies choices. Especially for those off-champions who are far from the meta.
: Trust me i have mastery 7. Ends up feeding and tilting the whole team beause they trusted you.
I put more stock in 7 than six
