NOTICE OF CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT
If You Used Garen, You May Benefit From A Proposed Class Action Settlement
You are receiving this notice because you may have used the gaming character “Garen” (hereinafter
) in the online game “League of Legends.” This is not a solicitation from a lawyer. A Proposed Settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit claims that Riot Games (hereinafter “Rito”) did wrongfully advise noobs to rush the Black Cleaver item (hereinafter
) on Garen, in violation of common sense. The Suit alleges:
begins the laning phase with substantial and adequate damage from his abilities
’s strongest attribute is his passive; therefore his core items should keep him alive and able to use his passive- The
inadequately boosts
’s passive compared to other early items and its passive of Armor Reduction is wasted early game against opponents who have not yet built armor
Rito denies that its recommendation of rushing
is a huge dumb mistake and denies that it did anything wrong. The Court did not rule in favor of Plaintiff or Rito. Instead, the parties agreed to a Proposed Settlement to avoid the expense and risks of continuing the lawsuit.
You are a Class Member if all of the following apply: You are a
user who purchased (a) one or more
s as your first item in any game during the last month, (b) you got facerolled hard (c) the reason you rushed
was because it’s right there first on the list as your essential item, and (d) your teammates and/or opponents mocked you as a “noob” for rushing damage on a tank, causing you to be angry, maybe say stuff that got you banned, and secretly wonder if you are, in fact, a noob.
If you are eligible, you may claim either (a) “come on, guys, I don’t play
much and 8-10 deaths on a mega-sustain tank isn’t that bad” (b) “STFU noob don’t tell me how to play,” or (c) that Rito owes you, like bigtime for their bad advice.
You may request $50 in product vouchers redeemable for Rito products (the “Settlement Benefits”). You may choose to claim the cash payment or the product vouchers, whichever you prefer. These claim amounts may be subject to pro rata dilution if the total amount of claims exceeds the available settlement funds. Keep in mind that Rito is a business and does not actually give cash to anyone and you won’t get any free stuff beyond what you got already, you whiny noob.
