When You Get Flamed For Maining Garen

I personally find Garen to be a very fun champ to play. I just played a ranked game and this Jax top lane was flaming for most of the game that I should try playing a real champ and that Garen took no skill to play (I went 4/0 in lane). I personally think that it takes skill to know how and when to use your abilities as Garen and to be able to avoid getting kited to death. I have spent a lot of time learning how to beat bruisers like Darius and Renekton in lane. It took even longer to get good at beating Ryze, Vayne, Teemo, and all those other poke champs.

What do you guys think? Is Garen a cheap pick or does he deserve some respect?

Anyone who flames you for your champion pick is just pissed that he's losing... Trust me, I QQ over Fiora all the time. :)

If you are playing Garen and have the ability to lane against, or at least hold yourself within lane against your counters, you sir deserve respect. It's not the same to just play Garen as a counter compared to actually mastering him to the point where you can consistently play him against many champions, including counters.

He's not a hard champ to master, but neither is Jax. It's mainly the other mechanics that are harder to master in the game: Csing, warding, picking good fights, map awareness, etc. Play your champ if you like him and enjoy him. Ignore people like Jax and be sure to report him after to make the community a better place. No one likes bullies or mean/rude players.

Just because he has simple mechanics doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you for playing him

Anyone who plays Garen even once is a Garen main. Same with Yi. They are that simple. However, no one should be mad at you for that. Play what you love dude and ignore all the negativity.

I don't think anyone should be flamed for maining a champion, especially if they actually main that champion and don't simply say they main that champion. My problem is when people take a champion they have virtually no experience on into ranked, they don't play cautiously, and then wonder why they and their team are losing badly, even if their opponent is terrible or playing a champion who they should horribly counter.

Also, to people who play FOTM and ONLY play FOTM and reroll as soon as things get even slightly buffed/nerfed, go walk on a Teemo shroom.
