Now, I'm fairly new (started in June) and Silver 5, but I was just in a game and at ~35 mins had a Mundo run into my base, facetank a tower until it died, grab an inhibitor, run away 1v5 with all my team slowing and damaging him and get into his jungle and escaped. Is this normal? I'm not calling for any balance changes, none at all, but...
I feel like I need to see a therapist after that game.

No different than other fed tanks in the game. Seen it with a fed Sion last night. So yeah, sounds about right. Maybe if you guys had stopped him early game, put him behind, maybe he would have not survived them tower shots eh?
Also, it's worth noting, some champions scale differently late game than others. Tanks can become unkillable late game, so if it were late game, then well, that's just your average tank champion.
Also for someone like Mundo who has health regen, and on his ultimate, you want a executioners 
and so on to stop his regen from being so strong.
