Mordekaiser solo lane

I miss being able to play Mordekaiser in a solo lane, like i use to be able to. His update was quite a bit ago but i'm going to bring up something from it i dislike. His W, I feel like Mordekaiser would be able to go top or mid and have more success (he is already fairly strong in lane by himself already though) if his W didn't only work on teammates and his ghosts. I feel as if he should be able to cast it on him self but, I know this would make him a little bit stronger than he is. Though i don't what could be changed to make it where he could cast his W on him self and get a speed boost but have something nerfed maybe to even it out a bit. Thoughts or opinions, thanks.
