After playing a game today I was given a 14 day ban, immediately after the game for unsportsmanlike conduct. I understand the rules and that saying a bad none tasteful things you can be penalized. I said something in response to one of the laners actually intentionally focusing my friend, who is new to the game, and they wouldn't let up. I asked them if they could let up and not be so harsh to him, but that didn't happen instead they just bm'd me, so i BM'd back. This caused me to say 3 letters, kys, in a joking manner. I understand the report, I get it wasn't a good thing to say, but still, a 14 day ban is a lot, for just a small acronym that is said in the game 100's of times. I've never been reported or banned before, never even a warning. So why did I get an immediate 14 day ban? No warning, no chat ban, just an immediate 14 day ban from the game, that is ridiculous, and the situation obviously didn't get reviewed.

Mute the person, report, and move on. The moment you retort, you become no better than the guy trying to provoke you. If you knew of the potential penalties, you were also aware that what you were doing was not right. I am sorry for the trouble you had during the match, but fighting fire with fire has never proven to be effective in any positive way.

You said one of the trigger words that is zero tolerance, it's easier to just mute these people.

Yeah I'm sure you said it jokingly. Regardless if you did it wasn't necessary. So many times people come here and say "yeah I said x BUT he said y first." Guess what? It doesn't matter. You got your 14 day ban. I would stay low or next it will be perm.
