I'm dissapointed in @Meddler

I used to like Meddler, he communicated with the playerbase and it actually felt like he wanted to help. This is one of the reasons he let me down. I'm a diehard fan of toplane 2 reaons for that.

  1. I love solo laning cause I cant blame anyone but myself for dying.
  2. I can learn from what has happened and try to apply it in my next matches to grow as a player. Top lane was/is in an aweful state and when I saw the post from Meddler saying he was gonna fix toplane in patch 7.24b it felt like a huge pain in my shoulders was gone and every day I looked at surr at 20 a few times, I was excited but what I saw was a complete let down nothing changed I feel worthless when my team is bad even when I get a few kills, I feel worthless when I build BC gathering 3k gold for 15 dmg (phage) because you couldnt make it different for ADC, I feel worthless because no mastery fits my playstyle and now you guys are making a keystone in a path that doesnt even fit bruisers, I feel worthless because dying to 1 gank means my tower is gone . So there I hope your happy with making the games shorter, but keep in mind you ruined the little bit of fun I had in top lane.

I'm sad that the person I looked up to dissapointed me and ruined my fav lane. Bye @Meddler Hello @Maple nectar I hope you dont dissapoint me like someone else did.

Top lane has been shat on ever since the TP nerfs. Granted, those were slightly justified, I'm just using those as a marker on the time line.

Ever since then, top lane has little relevance in the game. They tried fixing that with herald, but now it's just something you get as a jungler if you're ahead.

Wait, you actually put faith into riot maple nectar? The guy who said the supports job should be to amplify the adc. The guy who wants to remove sightstone because it doesn't feel "exciting and fun" to buy sightstone. The guy who literally couldn't understand what was so bad about ardent meta and why people wanted it to be nerfed?? Like you know, he liked ardent meta and if was for him ardent meta would still be there. That is the guy who you put your trust into? You are going to get MASSIVELY disappointed. You will see another year of toplane irrelevancy while botlane is the sole carry of the game and noone else. I assume by mid season every support will just be an additional item slot for adcs since the supports job isn't to help the team but simply "amplify" the adc.

The changes Meddler said were coming for that patch were not all the changes planned for Top lane, think of it like the changes to Aatrox they made. Yea, they did a few things, but they are still planning to do a LOT more next year. The stuff they did were just a few minor things to help a few struggling champs, which all didn't pan out cause they felt some of the changes were too big to push out. Now what exactly they plan to do is beyond me, but don't give up on Top lane yet. I'm still hoping next year will be all about top lane.

Meddler is a support main, thats why top lane always get the shaft, i dont think anyone on the balance team plays top lane either its all support and tank mains with a few adc mains there and there.

As long as those ppl are in charge top lane is never going to be anything but a tank snooze fest who just stat checks every bruiser into oblivion while outscaling them.

The top lane changes require the change to Grasp of the Undying to go live.

Those changes could not go live during the micropatch that 7.24b was in.

Maybe Meddler shouldn't have made the promise he did, but he's definitely working on fixing top lane. It's taking longer to balance than they thought. But they haven't just tossed up their hands and forgotten it or anything.

The best way to fix this i think would be to revert summoner 12 back to before the nerfs. This way top lane has a more dire presence in the game. Ofcourse bot lane always complained about the clown fiesta fights bot because "they couldn't farm as top could tp in for a gank or rescue" but i felt that was the core gameplay of top. Their TP. Was use for 1. Split push or 2. Aid, and top was a relevant force in the game. That huge ass summoner 12 nerf was over done. More so they were so pissy they went ahead and nerfed Shen ult to finish off the process. Ofcourse this all served Galio too well as he was untouched.
