They're bringing old actives back in future items apparently, so it's not a huge deal for the moment.

If you look through Riot's comments about these items, it all makes pretty good sense.

Now you have 800g back from Sightstone that you can spend on items like item 3114 or most of an item 3105. Those are real support items!
