Riot, I gotta tell you something.

I put this under gameplay and balance because my crisis is the lack of enjoyable gameplay. If this could have gone somewhere else let me know.

Riot, we've had a lot of ups and downs since I started. I'll admit league was never perfect, but then again I never needed it to be. I love the team dynamic, I love the strategy, I love so much about this game that I've stuck with it. Hell, I love it so much I became a support main. Which brings me to the topic of my discussion. Recently I've been noticing the team dynamic shift. It feels as though a team needs to be 5 awesome individuals rather than an awesome team of 5 individuals. I became a support main because I love needing my team just as much as they need me. But if they don't need me, why am I even there? I feel what really drove this feeling into me was the release of Tahm Kench. The support built to not need an adc. Was the allure of having a supporty top laner so blinding, that the essence of the support role was lost in the process?

He'll see tweaking in the future I'm sure and I might just be spouting emotion right now, but it feels like roles of a team are starting to matter less in games.

I think it's fine for a support champ to be playable in other lanes. Nothing wrong with having two supports on a team, one of which can solo lane early, I think.

The problem I'm having is the ability to solo a lane makes him too powerful in a 2v2 scenario. Thus he isn't supporting anything but his own kill score in most cases. His kit is even perfect for kill stealing coincidentally enough. Just feels like the support is ironically becoming more self sufficient.
