Ruby Sightstone Passive (20% CDR) Back?

I (kind of but not really) understand the thought process behind getting rid of sightstone and the support item actives, but couldn't you have done something to compensate the Ruby Sightstone passive of 20% CDR for active items? That seemed like a HUGE necessity for supports, especially when we're building Redemption/Solari every single game.

Perhaps put a second passive within support items? "After 500 gold earned, gain 4 wards. After 1,000 gold earned, gain 20% CDR on active items" seems perfectly reasonable, don't you think? Without that CDR and without those support actives you're really screwing supports over in the long run, don't you think?

I don't really have a problem with losing the 20% cdr. You still have ingenious hunter for 40% cdr if that is what you really want.

this was made because in certain elo's supports just don't buy sighstone and your team is instantly in a massive disadvantage due to lack of vision.

I personally utilized that 20% ICDR. But I rarely saw that in opponents for the preseason as is. It's something though I know I can adjust without.

Removing the support actives only hits the non-support champions in most cases. A lot of the time you were buying the Eye versions of the support items anyways, if you were buying things like Face of the Mountain, in most cases, you were building inefficient for what you got out of it. There were times where the tier 3 support item was the correct choice, but most times it was just Eye. So by making Eye the only choice, it makes things easier for players so they don't make the wrong choice later.

Don't forget that this also removes viability from ADCs running Targon's now, seeing as the old reward is now 100% removed. In addition, healing from ranged champions is now half efficient.

Long story short, most people weren't even getting the 20% Item CDR to begin with because they opted for Eye over Ruby Sightstone.

On one hand, I used to always build Frost Queen's Claim, Redemption, and Ruby Sightstone every game, and loved the 20% CDR on active items so I could use the first two items more often.

On the other...games nowadays are so short, and Ruby Sightstone was always my last item, that I haven't really made it to late game where I've even had the chance to buy Ruby Sightstone.

So I don't know yet how much I'll feel the effects of losing this, though I do hope Riot will bring back the item CDR along with the tier 3 support actives.

Ingenious Hunter will be the ruby sightstone's replacement. We just got to play with both at once for a little while.

I don't think they would ever let us have oracle's lens on a 28ish second cooldown.
