That's how matchmaking works. It tries to do a good job but as the queue goes on longer then it softens its requirements as it assumes you are getting tired of waiting.

The longer the queue goes on for, the more likely it is that matchmaking had to resort to giving up either your primary role, team premade size matching, or even MMR.
