Zhonya's Hourglass need to be removed

So this item

It gives 100 AP, 45 armor, AND the passive is just broken as all hell! Going mid lane with this, i see SO many mages rush this against AD assassins! Or Just ANY assassin really. With a push of a button you can ruin a combo onto you, and when you unfreeze BAM you can just unleash the beast onto that poor squishy!

And what do assassins get to counter this? ? So you are saying the mages get this nice STASIS, while us poor assassins only get a shield? That is some BULL SHIT! And AP assassins abuse Zhonya's just as bad! Kat, Fizz, Ekko all can use this to get that edge over their AD counterparts.

It is just too strong and NEEDS a nerf or to be removed like DFG was before.

I don't know where to even begin. However I will say this. Zhonya's was introduced because Riot realized years too late that assassins could never be balanced becuase there was no counter to their "assassinate" insert Zhonya's.

I am so sorry you cant just completely destroy people with Zed even easier than you can today.

It stalls the game. if you make a good play against someone and they push that button they will save them selves for sure, but if they got caught to start with why do they deserve that? You should be rewarded for good plays. by the time my ult is back up, that active will also be back up, so no one gets anywhere and it becomes a farm lane unless someone really fucks up in their positioning.

Except it's not really a good play by pressing 3 targetted skills and a pointblank super fast skillshot.

Most assassins have ult cds less than 90 seconds (except in lane, where they should be weaker), so I don't know where you're going with the cds.

Just trying to to come up with anything to argue about, and crossing my fingers that this thread picked up steam. Really wanted to make a big troll board of my very own. This is like the opposite of all the "AD assassins are really strong" boards, or that was what I was going for lol.

Actually no. That is not at all the reason zhonya's hourglass was introduced. It was introduced because this item called zhonya's ring was basically zhonya's hourglass + deathcap all in a single item. It gave AP, the % AP boost, and the active. Zhonya's ring was around for quite a while. I can't remember if it was in the beta, but I know it was in the very early days when the game went live. Then it was replaced during the change between S1 and S2 because of how powerful the ring was if I recall correctly.

STOP There is still item 3139 for assassins too m8. The mages NEED zhonyas for champions like Talon/Zed/Rengar/Kha'Zix. Infact AP mages need another MD/Armor item.

Ad champs get qss/mercurial and ap champs get zhonyas. Also it is an active, but a passive, and it is reasonably balanced right now- it has a decently big cooldown, and you just have to wait to burst an enemy down after they use it, or before they can react.

I am fine with QQS, it stops one ability and requires skill to be used. unlike Zhonya's.

The cooldown on it is not that big. In laning you will have only 1, maybe 2 ranks into your ult and you will need that ult for your big combo. The hourglass will always be off cooldown when you have your ult back up. With that item, in laning, your best combo can't be pulled off, and you are left with just your stander tools and hope for a gank. (Not taking in misplays here, as thoes will get anyone a kill most of the time)

Zhonyas is actually incredibly balanced, and if you blow your entire combo on a squishy mage or another assassin and it DOESN'T kill them then that's your fault. If they zhonyas in the middle of your combo, you have time to reposition and your cd's will be up again. It's like mid laners with barrier, you need to expect it or it will punish you, but if you recognize that they have it then it's fairly easy to play around it.

I didn't know that Zhonya's had a PASSIVE that made you invulnerable. I always thought it was an active.

Maw is a lot more than a shield.. Have you even looked at the item description? A shield, armour penetration and when it pops you get bonus lifesteal until you leave combat. Zhonya has none of those.

Yes! Screw the AP champions! They're op in this meta with their increased item costs and item nerfs. Let's not only get rid of a core item in their build BUT....Here me out guys...But what if we get rid of armor overall?? After all, armor does stall the game and prevents assassins and AD hypercarries getting fed and out of control, and let's increase the amount of MR AD items like Maw. Except make it 75 ad with 20%crit and 15% attack speed. It's genius!

Have you taken a look at GOLD EFFICIENCY, COOLDOWNS, COST, or ANYHING ELSE? AD assassins have many mr items, wits end, mercurial scepter, and yes, maw. Maw is really good as it provides a nice shield WHILE STILL ALLOWING YOU TO DO DAMAGE. Plus, it gives you a ton of nice stats.
