I believe they mentioned him in the Patch Chat for 7.18 https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/qx3Zh25H-patch-chat-with-the-playtest-team-718

I think Meddler said that Ryze Ryze will most likely be looked at sometime before 7.22 (So it's most likely the preseason patch).

Looks like 2018 after the s8 live patch goes out.

Ryze's kit is actually fine for the most part, they only thing they have to change is really just the ulti.

..............

That or, if they really have to change him again, make his Q lock-on again, but change his W for good.

There are so many ways to change his W:

  1. Make it a ground AoE with some kind of delay.
  2. Make it a lock on with some kind of delay.
  3. etc.

I would agree with that but then I think it would be fair to be able to reset the W CD like we used to do. The old ryze was cancer because the snare had no counterplay, but if it has counterplay then it should be np to reset the cd

I think it's fine to not have the reset on W.

Because old Ryze used to have a shitty clear that required him to blow ulti on minion waves to clear efficiently especially when against a large wave; but given that Ryze has monster clear in his normal spell (at least after getting a couple items in) now, and there's an extra space for ulti, it's okay to leave out the reset on W out I'd feel.

Though I guess you could also argue that Ryze used to have far better teamfight power than now, so it's another trade-off, and I would agree too. But then again, there's the vacant ulti spot, that can be changed into some other things to help with that (given it's quite easy to see Ryze's ulti is really a big problem atm, and desperately needs some change)

I would say it's nice (for the reset on W), but not necessarily essential. If you get what I mean.

But hey.

Yes I see your point and I agree with you, the thing is that I miss watching my CD's go down and be able to properly fight a Yasuo: every time he dashes, using a W to counter him. They will probably make his R a completely new ability that does some sort of damage, so it wont be like his old R, steroids basically
