Kennen support?

Been seeing it recently in my Silver II games. Doesn't ever perform well on either side and frankly pisses me off when I see it. Anger aside I am having a very difficult time seeing why anyone would play an assassin support and be trying to win while knowing what they're doing. I understand kennen can stun if abilities are hit consecutively, but it seems like braum would outclass this with his concussive blows passive http://image.prntscr.com/image/2a2e4ea3ea5a4a5aa7ff2249af619860.png , stunning the target greater than or equal to the duration of kennen's passive, Mark of the Storm http://image.prntscr.com/image/fdea7477e98b4506adbcb958a10f9e03.png (kennen's max duration being 1.25 second stun, while being braums minimum stun duration time is 1.25 seconds, scaling up to 1.75 seconds.

So what's the deal here? Braum outclasses kennen in terms of stunning, and from what i've seen, kennen support is offensively and defensively underwhelming as a support, at least in my games. Please shed some light on this.

I've done it in ranked.

It's fine if you know what you're doing.

It's manaless and ranged. It also has a potent level 6.

These Kennens you see probably take squishy ap runes and go spellthief's go aggressive early and die.

The way I play it is with adc runes (or ap, or tank/anygood rune page works honestly). I start with item 3302 as Kennen's only limits are his hp bar, and in general it has always been the strongest support item healing your adc while providing the most critical stat to a support yourself: hp. You grab those last hits with his free Q.

I've been playing kennen support by maxing W. However that's just a carry over from my solo laning with him. I think for support Q is better. If you max Q getting them targons last hits over fiesty adcs isn't hard. I play early levels trying to annoy, not overextending, cautiously. Stun them for your ADC when he reacts. Many of my foes underestimate my Kennen support and make early mistakes.

The real kill power comes at level 6.

Rylias is broken. Late game I get Zhonyas. item 2303 item 3116 item 3158 item 3157

It's tanky enough when I snowball the game.

I ult teamfights more defensively as Kennen support trying to stun the highest damage dealers within range of my carries. That is unless the enemy team is in a moment of weakness then I can engage too. Rylias Qs are an integral part of Kennen support.

I bet a youtuber did it.

EDIT: It looks like a couple pro players did it. I find these trends usually mean everyone thinks they can; I do not have enough anything to count how many shit-tier Threshes I have watched throw games in the name of their garbage ADC play and build.

Most likely you're seeing the result of a video going widespread, if I had to guess.

No, it's been a thing since forever. So has Kennen ADC, but this has seen a recession the past few seasons.

Keep in mind im bronze, and most of anything works down here..

But I guess that doesn't really matter if you're just good at it because.... Apparently, there's an AP Gnar somewhere in plat elo.. "AquaDragon33"

ANYWAYS...

Yea If you can consistently throw out and hit abilities, Like have his W passive ready, AA someone, W and then Q. That's a short stun, and quite a fair amount of damage.

Pair him with someone like Ashe or Varus whom also have a form of CC, it's a pretty good lane.

Braum Sure, his Stun is perhaps better but it's also harder to stack unless the ADC reacts upon it.

At level 6 kennen just becomes a fluffy, stun machine. With his ult being up about every minute or so. (I have scaling CDR runes so by the time I finish my Support item and item 3158 it's already nearly 30% Cdr.)

Kennen is also no joke when it comes to damage. If the enemies are half health at level 6 that could be a guaranteed kill or double if you land a good ult on them.

Buying item 3116 item 3157 is pretty much your core after support item.

You're very mobile, and you regenerate Energy quickly.. there's no such thing as "OOM"

Kennen is simply versatile. He has peel, magic damage, damage that scales on his autos allowing him to be a relatively decent adc and is pretty safe in lane. He's one of the few champions that can pretty much go every role besides Jungle and have success.

I feel like this is something people would see a streamer do and try to imitate it. I'm not saying it doesn't work because i haven't seen it or even considered it but it sounds like low elo people shouldn't be doing it. Sheeps gunna Sheep and in low elo we aint even good sheep... we are the damaged sheep that with only 3 legs and one eye.
