I thought the same about illaoi at first, but i haven't played against a successful illaoi in few weeks. She is VERY immobile and high mobility tops like Riven, Fiora and gnar just out play her Rreally easily. She is a very aggressive support and ive had success with her in that role, but again she is very immobile and with the amount of high mobility marksman she is not optimal at all
I do agree Thunderlords needs some work, but honestly, as long as you have some form of sustain, thunderlords is only there as a bully ability
you have the wrong mindset. Your teamates may make bad calls, but calling them "retards" and flamming is not the answer. If you die, it is all on you! You misplayed, or you were caught out, or you didnt farm up enough. I know i am only silver 4, but i was silver 5 and the second i stopped blaming my teamates and started proactively trying to improbe MY gameplay, i was promoted.
Keep these things in mind. The game is changing but if it wasnt changing it would only get boring
