Gnar is an unfair champ

To start if off no I'm not low elo I'm diamond. Gnar has a q with a low cool down when catching boomerang along with that he uses rage so he can just q all day long His mini form jump can bounce him off minions for escape along with a movement speed buff and percent health damage for harass????? WTF WHY!?!!? he already has his q plus rage to deal damage he does not need health damage added lmfao When he goes mega he regains a ton of health to sustain in lane on top of that even if he goes full damage his ult can completely destroy your team with his mega q also slowing along with a stun and a aoe jump damage

NOW this is where I'm confused about how you consider him fair vs all the other champs that you nerf who are nowhere close to him in top lane! and this is the most simple example I can really give....

Wukong who is a monkey like all these other ninja type champs who get energy (I consider him a ninja he was trained by yi) His q and ult were nerfed because he finally saw pro play and it was in the jungle! Going full damage wukong full combo will not do as much damage as a full tank gnar

Wukong buffs that should be highly considered..... (if his target is zoned meaning it will be the only opponent hit by his e it should do bonus damage) (if there are 2 targets his e should do bonus damage) (His e should do 25% bonus damage for each clone that is not used on the priority target) His w only lasts a measly 1.5 seconds (If the length was added .25 per rank that would be amazing even with that small amount) (his e should grant movement speed!!!!) Wukong should be granted a shield based on how many people he knows up in his ult (100 shield per person)

Now most of you will say his ult does so much damage its a knock up ok well this is where you compare gnar vs wukong If gnar ulted into a wall (which is increadibly easy based on how huge his ult range is) you are stunned and he can follow it up with another aoe stun an aoe q and an aoe jump on whoever was hit by his ult. Wukong has no real follow up his ult has a 4 second timer for people to run gnars ult is instant with a huge amount of damage

Wukong's q should grant a slow and scales per rank.... HE IS SMASHING YOU INTO THE GROUND just like gnar does but not aoe Gnar has 4 forms of AOE cc while wukong has one! Along with this wukongs passive is a joke lets be honest +6 armor and mr per enemy champ in a certain area? give me a break that's lame and useless

There are so many other things I could say about how this champ is broken compared to other top laners who are denied buffs and its just insanely dumb how certain champs are nerfed when they finally see play in lcs and are not even that great to begin with it only worked with certain comps not just oh we need a tank? and damage? and cc? ok ill pick gnar

I'm just gonna make a wild guess and say you just played as Wukong vs. Gnar; most of this text wall is proposed Wukong buffs.

Anyway, Gnar's main weakness is his unreliability. If Wukong sees a team out of position, he can jump in and mutliate them along with his team. If Gnar just shrunk, he can't really do that; he has very little CC in his Mini form and can't teamfight very effectively. His engages are very telegraphed, and his teleport danger window is likewise.

P.S. Gnar's transformation actually doesn't heal him once it ends; the amount of health that his other form will have is based on his max health. So if his Mega form's max is 1000 and his Mini's max is 500, him transforming from Mini to Mega at 500 health will land him at 250.

Actually, his Passive does Heal him the same way Renekton and Nasus heal off their ultimate castes. It's not considered a heal, but it technically is because he gains that health and keeps it until it is damaged. The only way he doesn't keep the health is if he's full HP just before transforming back to Mini Gnar. The same is said for Renekton and Nasus as well at full HP.

This is not true. "When returning to Mini Gnar, Gnar will only retain his current health percentage, not current health total. This is a conscious design change to prevent Gnar from simply triggering Rage Gene in order to heal himself over time." Nasus, Renekton, and Lulu's ultimates do actually heal you , but Gnar's passive does not.

No I did not play a gnar vs wukong match it was just a easy showing on how some champs are over powered with passives while others are nearly useless and it doesn't matter if gnar is mega or small he still does a shit ton of damage and can kite you easily with his boomerang.... q run away catch! oh still chasing me? q again oh ur slow again cant get to me oh still going ok q auto auto hyper speed buff haha cant get to me I just halfed u and ur a full built tank... his laning control is retardily op along with his team fighting (even in mini form) and if you are alone and he hits you with a q as mini well you are basically dead this cooldown is instant at higher levels along with his speed buff and hop so you will never get away unless you can flash over a wall while his hop is still on cd.

If you manage to bully him in lane he is still able to farm with his long q range + if you try to zone him from xp he will just keep throwing boomerang while you can do nothing in retaliation and he will eventually end up on top

well, he's strong, but at least he isn't cancer faceroll like other strong champs. He does take some skill to play.

I press q it goes half way across screen to hit you... I catch my q 2 seconds later oh look I can q again oh look I caught my q let me do it again oh ur low? cool ill walk up to you since you are slowed forever and deal % health damage NO WORRIES I DONT USE MANA SO I CAN DO THIS ALL DAY!!! and thanks to the speed buff I get for some random reason you have no chance of escaping...

I will not disagree that Wu could use some love, but as someone has already stated Gnar is unreliable with his ult and cc. When he goes mega he has a lot of cc, but only for a short amount of time. If you wait out until he is mini again that is when you can go in on him. He has way less damage when mini even with his health% damage. Just need to play smart and look for openings when they appear.

how do you go in on some1 with an aoe slow that's on instant cd? and also has a hop to escape.... I see what your trying to say but he has to much power in controlling what you can do to him

Against an immobile, short ranged tank like SIon or Malphite, sure. He counters them, what do you expect? But if you put him up against someone who can bully and harass him back (Lulu, Jayce, Teemo) or someone who can close on him, (Pantheon, Irelia, Yorick), he's going to have a terrible time.

i still think hyper should have a cooldown so that frozen mallet mini gnar cheese can stop being a thing forever

Bud Light1 votes

they should remove hyper... and his % health damage along with being able to turn mega pre 6

Vladimir top

Can almost basically do the same in terms of free-range harass & sustain plus an AoE teamfight AP amplifier damage, but woah WOAH, let's not talk about him

Bud Light1 votes

vlad has no stuns no real form of engage (gap closer) to get into the middle of a team unless you use flash..... He does a lot of aoe damage but atleast he can be controlled and you can counter his positioning unlike gnar who will just slow you if you try to catch him and hop away or into you when he needs
