Zhonyas : Your soldiers should still attack while u zhonyas. This works for all other pets, so should for Azir.

Mana Issues : His basic combo which is Q+W is VERY frequent to use and q costing 70 mana is a bit much specially since u always have to pair it with W. Either Reduce Q to 40-50 Mana or do something absolutely NUTS which might work, Make W cost 20-0 Mana on levels so late game your only problem should be movement of soldiers.

i dont think you've played azir enough to know what his W is... They're not pets, they are an extension of his autos.

You have to think of soldiers as temporary Orianna balls. As far as mana issues, I only build Morellonomicon for regen and I almost never go OOM unless I am in an extended siege or something.
