Ranked Decay

I just hit Plat5, I know that means I can get decay and go down to Gold1 if I don't play in 28 days. the thing says in any ranked queue, does that mean I can play Flex ranked (which I am not plat in) to save my solo/duo ranked from being decayed? or do I need to play solo/duo?

You'll need to play solo/duo to avoid solo/duo decay, and vice versa (if you ever find yourself plat+ in flex).
