Smite and Shaco's Clone

I'm mostly just curious to know how this interaction works - Shaco's clone and Chilling Smite.

If shaco's clone is treated as a pet, we should expect 1k damage on cast.

If shaco's clone is a pet, we should expect no slow / movement speed stolen, as chilling smite works on champions, not pets / minions.

So how does this work in game? Would the fake shaco recieve 1k damage and not get slowed? Or would it mimic the effects of smiting a champion, doing less damage and slowing the clone.

This could be a great way to tell the difference between two shacos or a total bust.

Anyone able to weigh in on this?
