How to Use Unlocked Camera in Teamfights?

So after getting Diamond through mostly my game knowledge and making roams/picks/good calls I think I understand the game enough. I can even watch challenger vods and understand every play/map movement that players are making. So the biggest difference I've noticed that separates me from a high Diamond player is... my mechanics. One area I'm rather weak in right now is in my teamfighting. It isn't bad but it isn't where it should be. So how do I improve this? How do I have optimal positioning and awareness of what's going on (besides also improving my atrocious Janna ults)? I've decided that it's through unlocked camera. I have used locked camera for every game I've played up until now.

I have recently tried doing this with Janna but it didn't end up to well. I went 1-5 (wins-losses) because I tried to use it in teamfights. I would constantly position horribly because my champion was always at the edge of my screen, my mouse clicks would always be near the center of my screen (even though my champion was nowwhere near it), and moving Janna and using her abilities felt awkward. I'm pretty decent at using it in laning phase though. If I don't use unlocked camera in team fights at a least some point in a team fight to see what's going on I feel like I won't have enough information to use my abilities well. My positioning would also be impossible to optimize. So how do I use unlocked camera well and when do I use it? When do you use it in teamfights and when do you not?

I realize there are other minute reasons holding me back from climbing a lot but this seems to be the biggest issue and is losing me games. I'm thinking about playing 20-40 flexQ games (3-4 days for me) before going back to soloQ to get adjusted to it. Yeah I might be able to climb but honestly I don't want to get to Diamond 3 being worse than people in that tier and just getting there using a cheap strategy. I want to become a good player. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks.

TL;DR - Bad at teamfighting, solution = unlocked camera, confused on how and when to use it efficiently, especially in teamfights.

Switch off completely locked camera, and play a few dozen draft games to accomodate.

Space bar toggles you back to your champion, can try using that to help out.

I took to unlocked camera like a duck to water, and I think that was because my game of choice before League was StarCraft. As I understand it they've made StarCraft 1 free, as well as some of StarCraft 2, so you could try playing that to get used to moving the camera around. No pressure being bad in a different game, right? :)

Other than that, maybe go to Semi-locked camera. It won't completely leave your champion, but it will swing around better than default locked camera.

Your problem with your mouse being in the center of your screen is just a habit you've built up over hundreds of games, it's going to take time to break that habit.

I use to hate unlocked camera. But now I can't live without it, I love it. You can always press space bar to get the camera back on you. I do that when shit is going down quick.

I use the space bar when I get into a teamfight so that the camera flies to center my champ

Only time I used locked is when walking back to lane. I turned it off after my first few months and although awkward at first, I can't believe people play locked at all.

Not that I'm remotely close to challenger or diamond (I'm actually unranked) , but I often toggle between locked/unlocked camera by simply pressing the Y key on my keyboard.
