Why is morgana Dark Blinding the longest snare in the game?

Why is it? I remember a few patches ago Riot was turning all form of CC max duration into 2.25 seconds (Something along these lines). So with this, why is her snare so god long? That 3 second blinding is deadly, it one of the worst (I mean worst as in good), and overpowered (non-ult) CC in the game. That snare is the #1 reason why Morgana is banned, every Morgana player I play against or with all agree it needs a nerf and they play her because of that 3 second snare. They also said a few other things in her kit need to get balanced out, but the main thing is the Dark Blinding duration.

So please, tell me why or why haven't this been worked on? I am talking about actually reason instead of trolls cause I wanna help is it worth the nerf or no? I don't care for "I play morg so I don't want her nerf" arguments.

So that all the damage from her R and W is unavoidable. If she does not land it, she does very little damage as a trade off.

W damage per tick would have to go up, and R tether time would need to go down to maintain that. Though for her R, they could make it have less time when there are fewer targets (so it stays 3 if 5 people are tethered, but goes down to 2 if there is only one).

In her case I think they left the duration at that length so she can get full use out of her "tainted soil" (i think thats the name). I would rather see a hitbox maybe even range nerf on the bind. This wouldn't reduce her trade potential, only her catch potential, which based on the rest of her kit, it doesn't seem like she is meant to catch people out at long range.

Tough to say but I think she's fairly balanced. I'd say her CC lasts so long because she's so dependent on getting the most out of her soil. Personally I think increasing damage per tick on her soil and significantly decreasing her snare duration would be a fair trade. Not to mention it would make her support a lot more bearable.

Some good contenders for why her's wasn't reduced to 2.25 seconds are

A) Her's is not a point and click targeted forced movement, just a skillshot snare with a slow projectile speed. B) All of her main damage (W and R. Mid morgana is what she used to be you know :c ) has VERY little actual damage or success unless she either landed Q or had someone else CC them. While you could reduce the snare and increase damage per tick of soil and/or reduce the time it takes to proc her ult, both of these have severe tradeoffs. Her soil doing more damage (either via shortening the duration + buffing damage or by just increasing damage) makes it even worse to play against support (she does even more damage for pressing W at max range and waddling away with her spellthief charges all used), and making her ult take less time to proc + stun makes her teamfight zhonyas stun even more obnoxious (hard for anyone with a good gapcloser to escape her).

Because she is nearly 100% dependent upon hitting that snare. To decrease the duration you would have to massively increase the damage on soil per tick and decrease the proc time for the stun on her ult while increasing the damage per tick yet again. In the end all you would do is make Morgana kill you even faster because to nerf the duration of the snare without giving her anything elsewhere would just gut her ability to be effective.
