Sona has a pretty good win rate, so seems unlikely she will get buffs. I mean what is there to buff that isn't just taking away a weakness from her or just making her even stronger?

Er, I don't think Sona needs buffs. If anything, she could use some changes I guess. Either a small rework to make her slightly more interactive (she is the aura support, so it's not like we can do much about that), maybe her passive? Or maybe a power shift to aid in her sustain, without putting her in OP territory. Right now, though, she's in a decent state.

Why the Sona buffs? She's in an okay spot I thought.

Sona is pretty strong, she has literally everything in the game. Even from a Sona main I think it would be pretty stupid if Riot buffed her, because due to how her kit is setup, one buff can definitely overpower her. She's an extremely good Support, and probably one of the highest burst Mid laners.

As much as I'd love buffs what Sona needs is a kit rework; one like Fiora's (harder to use but adds more mechanical variety and isn't just determined by stats).

At the very least make Q a skillshot and let her choose her W target.

Um, ok.

I believe if you account her Q + Passive combo which is basically one attack (like Viktor's Q) but split into two, it's like

492 base damage (with ult at max rank) + 90% AP scaling + I'm not quite sure, but I know Sona's Q has an aura that makes everyone's next auto attack do 40% more damage but I'm not sure if it applies to her or how it actually works. Like if it is calculated with your base AD, or overall the entire damage of your next auto attack. Also Lich Bane makes her Q/passive do even more damage.

AP Sona Mid is scary. I've been called a troll a lot for trying it, but I've had a lot of people apologize after I end up going 20-0 and one-shotting the enemy ADC.

Overall Sona's kit is pretty good, she doesn't need a rework. She's an aura support with a ton of utility. The only thing that's exceptionally strong in her kit is probably her ultimate. The thing is that she's so versatile that in combination with her slows, heals, poke, or whatever else she wants to do, she's invaluable if played correctly.

Sona's full rotation does 918(1.48%AP)

Viktor's E alone does 400(.98%AP), with Q it goes up to 730(1.6%AP), and adding R it does in total 1395(2.85%AP).

As for Sona's Q aura, it's basically one proc of Ardent Censer (flat damage on the next auto); doesn't actually increase other damage by a %.

The reason why I say she needs a rework is that the current one didn't address the issues of her being overbearing when her numbers are good, and extremely useless when they're not. When she has good numbers that don't require building AP she's oppressive because her poke in undodgeable while being able to heal back whatever is thrown at her. Your only option is to all in her. When she doesn't have good numbers she's useless; other supports have lots of utility without gold/damage/ability power, but Sona's all about numbers. She's essentially the Vladimir of the supports. That's why Nami is called Sona 2.0; some similar abilities but Nami has hard CC outside of her ult.

Riot's shown that they don't like generalists that aren't Lee Sin and Thresh, but I'd welcome any changes that at least solidify her theme with more interesting play patterns.

Mind you that Viktor has absolutely no where near the utility Sona has, and all of Sona's damage is very easy to hit/point and click.

But yeah I understand what you're saying, she has so much utility that if they buff any numbers she'll be overpowered and if you can't all-in her or play someone with effective poke bot lane like Caitlyn or Miss Fortune, she'll just not really be effected.

Sona's a really interesting champion, I could see Riot tweaking her in the future. I like the feel of her being an aura champion, but in reality she isn't really that. Maybe something to do with her auras being permanent until she turns them off, but all of them having certain drawbacks in an entirely new kit. Maybe like, everyone around her has increased HP/Resource regen but also lose 3% of their maximum HP/Mana.

I really liked how you brought up Nami, she's really similar to Sona but has access to more CC. However she isn't number reliant. If Sona's numbers were stronger, she could easily do much better than Nami, however if they aren't then Nami is literally just a Sona on steroids with a fish tail.

good for gold and below, absolute shite for plat and above

she could use some tweaks for her E, because it does nothing when you rank it up

Not sure about Sona.

Skarner needs a global ult, or like a scorpion stinger that he can shoot 2000 units.
