Higher MMR than Rank, instant terrible team?

So after my placement games, I ended up S1. Last season G3. I was still moving up when season ended. So I thought this time around I’d go for something a bit higher.

After placements, I played about 25 games top as Yorick, who is very strong atm. Wins get me 25 ish LP, losses took 15 or so away. This means I have a higher MMR than my rank, correct?

But out of the 25 games I have played, around 23 of the games, one lane always feeds at least 4-5 kills before I could even get my Triforce. Now some of these games I can win if I’m in an easy match up like vs teemo, where I just take first turret at 12 min and hardcore split push. But a lot of the times I’m breaking even or slightly ahead, with enemy top lane forced under turret after I hit 6. Usually at this point, enemy jg and mid have the freedom to camp top, with my team creating 0 pressure.

Now as Yorick, I always end up being able to 1v2 except when there’s a Jax who’s ahead, but the team can never seem to win those 3v4s, or just play like idiots and ignore a spawning dragon to base and get items while 3 people come top lane to stop my push.

With 25 games under my belt I feel like this is a decent sample size, and the fact that I would consistently get feeding teams is strange. The only logical conclusion is that my MMR is somehow forcing me to get matched with losing teammates.

Almost all the games where my team breaks even I have won. But I can’t carry games where my bot feeds enemy Lycian 6 kills in 12 mins or have a 7/0 LB roam top lane while my mid is turret farming with 5% health.

I just need to know if this is something. That happens commonly or am I just in a ridiculously bad luck streak. If I’m getting matched with consistently worse team mates then I need to play accordingly and switch to jungle even if I love playing Yorick when he’s so strong now. Last season I climbed with Eve and Relied entirely on that insane roam after lvl 6 to win, but I can’t seem to win games playing a splitpusher toplane who can’t team fight well.

Please advise.

P.S., I am confident that I’m playing Yorick mostly correct, I have never lost lane hard even when getting constant camps. Sounds crazy but most games are lost by my team and my efforts just made that game a lot longer than it would have been.

You can only carry to a certain extend. If your team just doesn't think about how to win and stops being helpful you lose. I guess one thing to try is actively hunting bounties to get as much gold concentrated on you as possible.
