Quick Advice for People Playing Botlane

*Disclaimer, the post changed as I wrote it and I forgot to change the title before posting. It is more about how to support than anything else. Sorry for the misleading title.

You cannot succeed alone.

Botlane is the only duolane on the Rift. That means it is also the only place you have to constantly work with another person. You wanna win botlane both players need to work together. This does not mean both players have equal impact though. I play a lot of Botlane and so believe me when I say the support will typically make or break the laning phase.

A good support can carry a lackluster ADC and put them in a position to excel.

So what are some things supports can do to help their ADC?

#1- Help your ADC last hit under tower. This is only important before the ADC gets some AD. Basically it boils down to autoing caster minions once so after the turret shot they die to one auto. It makes last hitting so much easier for the ADC.

#2. - Be aware of where you are standing in lane relative to your ADC. Don't be that Janna or Soraka that stands just barely within sheild or heal range, but also don't be too far forward. In general a good rule of thumb is to match how far up your ADC is, just don't stand on top of them all the time. This helps both of you to react more quickly together.

#3. - Get Sightstone Vision is important, you can't react to what you can't see. Yes it sucks to have to always get it. But do it anyways. Also try to keep a control ward in a useful location on the map.

#4. - Be willing to let the enemy kill your wards, at times. I cannot tell you the amount of times I have killed myself trying to keep one of my wards alive. If the enemy team pushes up the lane and goes to check the river brush for wards, you probably can't stop them, so don't die for it. They just kill the ward after they kill you.

#5. - Build to your Champions strength, but remember unless your snowballing you don't have much gold. If your playing a Mage support like Zyra or Brand think heavily about getting Rylais, but don't get Luden's. Rylais will slow enemies which could be really helpful to your team and it is also a cheaper item. Luden's expensive and has no utility attached to it. Other support items such as Aegis of the Legion can provide vital team wide survivabilty. Build items that help your team out the most, and yes that does sometimes mean going full AP support when the situation demands it.

#6 - Don't be afraid to roam. Believe it or not you don't have to sit in botlane all game long. If nothing is happing bot, and your ADC will be safe roam. Nothing makes an enemy Midlaner more angry then getting ganked and killed by a support, only to look not and see an ADC free farming 1v2.

There are more things that make a good support than just these thing but they are a good start of things to at least think of. None of these rules are absolutes but are general things to kinda keep in mind and think about. And to everyone that plays support know that your ADC secretly loves you, because they are useless without you.

Number 4 is something I gotta work on. I'm too protective of the control wards the river brush(if playing on red) and tribrush(if playing on blue).

Good post though. Thumbs up!
